At Into23, we work a lot with Asian businesses. A lot of the source content we see has not been written by native English speakers. This presents translation challenges.

It reduces the output quality potential from Machine Translation engines. The quality of output from MT engines is largely driven by the quality of the input. If you plan to use MT for translation, even when there is a later post-editing step, it is worth taking the effort to clean up your source content once. This once-off effort will repay for itself across each language you are translating into.

We look at:

Term consistency: ensure that the source content adheres to approved terminology where available. We also can provide a terminology creation service if terminology is not available. This will ensure consistency across all languages.

Style Guide adherence: If a style guide exists, we can validate the source content against this guide. If one does not exist, we create a style guide for you.

We can also look at simplifying complex sentences, removing unnecessary words. We have tools that automate much of this work. This ensures we can still meet your turnaround times.
